Editorial policy
Modern Theatre Guide aims to make theatre's visual and spatial language easier to notice. We value accurate description, clear distinctions between fact and interpretation, and independence from the interests of partners.
Accuracy and review
We take care with names, production details, terminology, and descriptions of stagecraft. When a statement can be checked against reliable material, we seek to check it before publication. Interpretive writing is presented as interpretation rather than as a definitive account of a production or its creators' intentions.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. Any sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage, and partners do not approve editorial conclusions.
Corrections and illustrations
If you spot an error, contact us with the article title and the detail in question. We review correction requests and update material when a correction is warranted, making significant changes clear to readers. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when that applies, the illustration is labelled.
The details are part of the story
A production speaks through more than its words. We look closely at the visual and spatial choices that shape what an audience notices.
